Default 2017 Stock Wars presented by MOTIV RC @ 180 Raceway! Dec 8-10

Stock Wars presented by MOTIV RC returns for 2017! I am happy to announce Stock Wars ’17, returning to 180 Raceway with some tweaks that follow trends currently sweeping the on-road racing scene. Additionally there will be some adjustments made to the class format. *NEW* All classes will run handout spec motors, which each participant may keep at the end of the event. ROAR rules will apply for TC, 1/12 and USGT. UF1 rules will apply for F1. *NEW* Qualifying format will be 4 rounds of QUAL POINTS style qualifying, best 2 of 4 count (ETS Style). Tie-breakers will be determined by single fastest run. Additionally, we are doing TRIPLE A-MAINS this year! SXT 3.0 is the only approved traction additive, free bottle with entry. All LiPo batteries must be charged in a LiPo sack. Personal Transponders are encouraged, though house transponders are available.

Schedule:
Friday, 8 December
7AM – Doors open. Open Practice till 11AM.
9AM – Check-in till 5PM
11AM – Controlled Practice by Class.
5PM – Check-in closes.
5PM – Seeding Round. Seeding based on top 3 consecutive laps. Must use marked tires and approved motor.

Saturday, 9 December
7AM – Doors open. Open practice till 9AM.
9AM – Rounds 1-4 of Qualifying (Qual Points, best 2 of 4 count)

Sunday, 10 December
7AM – Doors open. Open practice
8AM - Mains Start (Triple A)

Classes:
Pro TC - sponsored by Avid RC
17.5 TC - sponsored by EA Motorsports
Pro 1/12 - sponsored by TQ Wire
17.5 1/12 - sponsored by RC America
USGT - sponsored by Destiny USA
F1 - sponsored by Team Scream

Pro Classes:Pro designated classes are offered and available to anyone. This is your chance to race with the best of the best of on-road carpet racers. Standard classes will exclude any racer who has made a top 10 at any National level carpet race over the past 5 years. Also, the winners from last year's standard classes must now race in the Pro class that they won. The races to determine this are: IIC, Snowbirds, ROAR Nationals, US Indoor Champs, MHIC & Halloween Classic.

Spec-Handout Motors:

  • All 17.5 classes will use spec "fixed" timing motors - These are not "locked" endbells. This ensures everyone will have the same timing setting.
  • Spec classes will use fixed timing handout motors
  • TC will have a minimum FDR (TBD)
  • Drivers will receive motor via random draw at check-in
  • Motors may not be swapped between TC and 1/12 classes
  • Motors marked for TC may be used in both Open and Pro TC classes
  • Motors marked for 1/12 may be used in both Open and Pro 1/12 classes
  • TC Open and Pro will use a spec FDR at 4.5. The following gear combinations should work:

    FDR - Pinion/Spur
    2.0 - 44/99
    1.9 - 43/102
    1.8 - 40/100
    1.7 - 37/98 or 40/106

1/12 Open and Pro will not be restricted on gearing but it will be the individual racer's responsibility to not damage the motor due to over/under gearing. The motor appears to work well between 89-102mm.

Tires:
Spec tires will be available for purchase at the event. You may practice on any tires you wish. However, for all Seeding, Qualifying and Mains you must use marked, spec tires purchased at the event. Unmarked tires, even if they are the same as the event spec, will not be allowed for any timed scoring during the event.

  • TC classes: Gravity RC Type C, available for $25 per set (limit 2 marked sets). Optional 1 additional set available for A-Main drivers only.
  • USGT: Gravity RC GT premounts, available at $25 per set (limit 2 marked sets). Optional 1 additional set available for A-Main drivers only.
  • 1/12 classes: CRC Purple Stripe spec available at $20 per set (limit 3 marked sets). Optional 1 additional set available for A-Main drivers only.
  • F1: limited to CRC, TCS and Gravity tires. Racers may bring their own.
o If a rim/tire is damaged, please bring it to the attention of race management to discuss a potential swap. The decision will be at the discretion of race management on a case by case basis.

Please note - If you have signed up and think you will not be able to attend, I need to know by 30 November. I will not be able to issue refunds starting 1 December due to tire & motor orders for the event. Please PM me by 30 November if you need to drop your entry. About 180 Raceway:
180 Raceway, formerly MRH is a small, racer owned & operated indoor carpet on-road race track located in Middle River, Maryland about 20 miles northeast of Baltimore. Our track currently consists of high traction CRC HD “Gray” carpet and CRC Clik-Trak on a wood subfloor that is 80x32 in size. For the 2017-18 season we are looking at installing the new CRC Fasttrak2 “Black” carpet. Pit spacing around the track is larger than in 2015, so pitting “trackside” for everyone should not be an issue. However, there will be an ample amount of additional pit space available 2 doors down from the track, with audio and scoring available if necessary. The nearest airport to 180 Raceway is BWI, & there are several hotel & motel options available within 15-20 minute drive. There are several places to eat within our shopping center, and even more around the area and at White Marsh Mall, only about 15 minutes away. If you find yourself bored at any time, there is also an Autobahn Indoor Kart track about 20 minutes from 180. This was a blast on Saturday night in 2015.

Track Address:
164 Carroll Island Rd. Middle River, MD 21220

Hotel:
Working on getting a reduced rate at a nearby hotel. In the meantime, the following link provides a listing of nearby hotels:

https://www.google.com/maps/search/H...=en&authuser=0

Hotels in the White Marsh area will be the nicest. E.g. Home2, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Woodspring in no particular order.

Yes, the first 2 years we had them split up that way. There will still be 2 options but I am not 100% decided yet on what the title or format will be for each.

Found a pic on Facebook of the stand and while I can roll up on it, there's no ledge cutout so I can be shoulder to shoulder with the drivers. That means I'd be sitting ass level behind a row of guys and not able to see the track. I don't know if it would be possible or not but I'd need a cutout\ledge to be able to race there. Btw I'm not demanding it just stating the need. If y'all were willing to do something, I'd come.
